The Viking story began in 1985, with the introduction of Viking DOS, the first client-server fundraising product ever produced. Capable of supporting universities with hundreds of users and millions of records, Viking DOS laid a solid foundation for the Viking Windows and Viking Web products that would follow over the ensuing decades.
Viking Windows and Viking Web both built on the platform established by Viking DOS. Each product in turn added more power and more flexibility while at the same time making the product easier and easier to use. Over the years, Viking has worked with world-class institutions as well as with many small organizations. We've participated in some of the largest fundraising campaigns ever run by any educational institution but provide the same level of care and commitment to our smallest clients.
Today, software produced by Viking is in use around the world. Our customers are successfully running campaigns that are raising billions of dollars. Others are planning future campaigns with help from Viking. Children are being adopted around the world with the help of software produced by Viking. And thousands and thousands of children are being supported by generous donors who pay monthly sponsorship fees to sponsor children in countries all over the world -- all with the help of software produced by Viking.
